The Orveil are not just leaders. They are the lifeblood of Everhaze—direct descendants of the Elders who once vowed to protect this place. From birth, they are destined for their roles, not only as caretakers but as keepers of warmth and peace.
The blood of the Elders runs through them, carrying a legacy they cannot escape. At the age of twenty, they answer a calling that has awaited them since birth. There is no resistance, no choice. Because Everhaze is not just where they live—Everhaze is who they are.
Each of them leads one of the six main pillars that keep the village in balance:
-
Head of Everfield: guardian of the land, ensuring fertile soil, good harvests, and continuous life.
-
Head of Oakreach: protector of the woods, listening to the trees and understanding the rhythms of nature that ordinary people cannot hear.
-
Head of Brookmere: keeper of water and animals, ensuring clean rivers, thriving fish, and well-maintained livestock.
-
Head of Timberhold: the hands that create, carve, and assemble, making sure the village has the tools and crafts it needs.
-
Head of Lumberstead: the planners snd builders, ensuring Everhaze remains strong, from homes to shelters for those in need.
-
Head of Inventory – Supplies and Storage: the guardian of balance, making sure everything in Everhaze is used wisely and fairly distributed.
They grow up knowing that the outside world was never meant for them. Not because they cannot leave, but because they are a part of Everhaze itself. Leaving would mean losing their identity and very existence.
Yet despite the heavy responsibility they carry, one truth remains: The Orveil are not just protectors of Everhaze but of each other. They are the light in the mist, the hands that nurture, the souls that ensure Everhaze remains a home for those who need it.
